About

Rosita is singer-songwriter from Gloucestershire. From an early age she has been vocally trained across genres such as musical theatre, light opera, jazz, soul and popular music; before finding her own original sound residing in contemporary R&B/soul.

Having studied at Paul McCartney’s LIPA Sixthform (2016-2018), Rosita is currently studying a BMus Popular Music degree at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester alongside Nicki Allan; training students to world-class levels in music.

During her time at the RNCM, she has successfully auditioned for Session orchestra and performed alongside American singer/songwriter Mario Jose. As well as performing her original material in a masterclass for DECCA Records.

Rosita has shared the stage with artists such as acoustic singer-songwriter Lucy Spraggan and classical-crossover vocalist Mary-Jess Leaverland. She has performed at venues including Gloucester Guildhall, Deaf Institute, Birmingham Symphony Hall, and the unsigned artist stage at NEC Birmingham. Some of her most notable performances include performing her original material with a full orchestra at Gloucester Rooftop festival and playing a set at Wychwood festival alongside her band.

Rosita’s original music has been featured on BBC Introducing, BBC Radio Gloucestershire and BBC Radio Merseyside on numerous occasions. As well as having several interviews live on air. She has released two studio recorded EP’s, ‘Hourglass’ and ‘No Pressure’, and is currently working on her third project to be released in 2020; this will include elements of hip-hop and R&B.

Influenced by the likes of Amy Winehouse, Lauryn Hill and Erykah Badu, she portrays soulful and soul-baring r&b vocals through her emotive melodies and lyricism. Her vocals are fluent and accurate, with contrast of colour and dynamic. Her most recent influences include H.E.R, Summer Walker, Ari Lennox and Jorja Smith.

Most recently, Rosita was accepted onto the Artist Development programme ‘Upsurge’, working with emerging artists in the south west. This has enabled her to work alongside and network with artists, engineers and producers such as KSP, Luzzey and MISTRY.
